Measured surveys — sometimes called measurement surveys — are surveys of existing structures and land that produce accurate dimensional records, used as the data foundation for design, planning, construction and building management.
The term covers several distinct survey types, each suited to a different project requirement. A measured building survey captures the interior and exterior dimensions of an existing building. A topographic survey records the physical features of a site — levels, boundaries, vegetation and structures. A heritage survey documents listed buildings and conservation area structures using non-contact methods. Each produces different deliverables and serves a different project purpose.
Red Laser delivers all of these — often on the same project — giving you one delivery programme and one team to deal with.
The RICS sets the governing standard for measured surveys of land, buildings and utilities in the UK. All Red Laser surveys are carried out in compliance with the relevant RICS specification for the survey type.
